This is so true… it’s like once you realize that how you were treated wasn’t normal- you feel sad but your inner child doesn’t want to be angry, but the inner adult has to tell the inner child it’s okay and it’s not your fault. Then they both need to feel it I think. Because we are safer now.
We don’t need to forgive, we need to give ourselves permission to be accepting of the fact we were hurt… AND NO… IT WAS NOT FUCKIN OKAY!
