Navigating and processing your past experiences with your family of origin is a hard and often scary process. Currently going through it myself. So happy you're working through this and letting the cycle end with you. Trying to be someone other than your true self is so exhausting.
Years ago, when new mom at 24, I also tried to reconcile being all the youngest child always teased for being so sensitive. I eventually found a song by Jewel’s to listen to on repeat: “I’m sensitive and I’d like to stay that way.” Really enjoyed this read today.
Very insightful introspection on your part. That is incredibly hard to do. I appreciate your honesty within this post. I too have struggled with not being allowed to be my true feminine self. Big Hugs!
Ah I love that little girl. She was right about so much.
I decided that at some point you have to choose to be hard or soft. I choose soft. It doesn't make living with the outside world any easier but it makes living in my interior world easier.
This is so beautiful and brave. Honor your softness in a world that often rewards toughness and cruelty. Thank you for sharing!
Lovely and loving, thanks for sharing.

I’m on my softness streak too, congrats to you! Relating to your inner child as well 💜
