We Want the Same Things?

Right? Right?!

You want me to support you

To rally to your cause

Yet when I hear you speaking,

I do a mighty pause

Want me to be your workhorse

To take the brunt and all

Yet when i reach for likewise

You smirk and let me fall

Now I have learned a lesson

While my sore heart is bruised

You don’t see me, a person

But just a tool for use

So rally to your own cause

And I will pick and choose

You’ve fooled me one too many times

I’m tired and confused

The world may yet keep spinning

As I go heal my wounds

But one day we must figure out

How best avoid our doom

I wanted to be helpful

But now I am on guard

For even beasts of burden

Are seen in some regard

So go and fight your battles

And I shall stand beside

The others wounded just like me

And then we will decide

If your cause is worth fighting

Or will you let us die

Cause you don’t care about us

As equals or allies

You only want to break our backs

As long as it turns tides

Mine eyes are now wide open

And it pains me to see

That caring for humanity

seeks reciprocity

Come help because it’s natural

The right thing us to do

We should work hard for all the world

And that means more than you.
