I felt this. I know and knew this. Our stories are important, needed. Children under patriarchy became property, burdens, slaves to work, sexual slaves…they became everything but children. And then the adult survivors locked the shame, the humiliation, the terror, the hopelessness away and became abusers, neglitors, dehumanizers of children themselves. Our stories are needed. Culture can change. Silence doesn’t allow change.
